The feature rich Actatek 3rd Generation (ACTA3) unit combines the security of the latest optical fingerprint recognition technologies with the power of a full blown, Linux based platform. The pairing of the two industries proven technologies allows for a robust and stable solution for any access control need. The ACTAtek can be purchased as a smart card / fob only unit, pin code only, and fingerprint only or a combination of authentication methods. Pin code is standard on all models.
Card access models are factory made to fit the needs of your existing or preferred card technology. Mifare, HID Prox I/II, HID iClass, EM, Sony Felica, Legic, & CePAS models are available.

Used in conjunction with the ACTAtek3 unit, the external secure I/O provides an additional layer of security for access control systems when the ACTAtek3 terminals are exposed to general access. An encrypted serial link from the ACTAtek3 unit connected to the external secure I/O ensures the door release mechanism cannot be operated directly. This means that even when there is a vandal attack or someone removes the ACTAtek3 terminal by force, the external secure I/O Secure Relay will maintain operation and keep the door mechanism locked against unauthorized access or “hot wiring” of the lock. Additional IO functionality includes four assignable inputs for use with alarm disconnects, alarm/tamper triggers, Request-to-Exits and more! We strongly recommend this option for all high security areas.

The ACTAtek LogiPrint Remote Registration allows users to be registered at a computer workstation rather than at an ACTAtek unit. This device is particularly useful when dealing with many users and/or multiple access points.

Upgrades
Built-In Video Camera Option!
With this module, that ACTAtek takes a snapshot photo anytime someone attempts to enter the secure area/facility. The subsequent photo is then stored with the event record inside the ACTAtek and viewed via any web browser.
Note: The Built-In Video Camera is a module that is factory installed into the ACTAtek. This option cannot be added after purchase.

1,000 to 20,000 User Capacity Options!
This option upgrades the ACTAtek to handle 3,000, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000 or even 20,000 users instead of the standard 1000 users. Please feel free to ask a representative about the 3K, 5K, 10K, 15K and 20K options!

Door Hardware
Electronic Strikes
An electric strike's ramped surface can pivot out of the way of the latch allowing the door to be pushed or pulled open from the outside, without the latch being retracted or while the knob or lever can be turned to allow egress from the secured area. (also known as free egress)
Fail-secure: applying electric current to the strike causes it to open. Strike remains locked in a power failure, but knob can be used from inside to get out. AC power causes it to buzz. DC power is silent except for click when strike releases.
Fail-safe: applying electric current to the strike causes it to lock. If there is a power failure, the door would open by being pulled/pushed. These are run using DC power.

Magnetic Locks
A maglock consists of an electromagnet and an armature plate. The electromagnet is attached to the door frame and the plate to the door. Electrical current passes through the magnet which attracts the plate, keeping it secured / locked. If you are using magnetic locks you will need to have a backup power source. If power is cut to the Reader or the Magnet lock the door will be open and unsecure. No data will be lost as the ACTAtek has non-volatile memory. (A Request-to-Exit Button is required with a Magnetic Lock.)

Disadvantages: Requires continuous power

Request-to-Exit Buttons
Administrative personnel can use a physical Request-to-Exit button to push at their desk to open the door for visitors. A Request-to-Exit button can also be used to control when the door will open from the inside. Simply push the button and the door will open allowing an exit when using an electronic locking device such as a mag lock or strike.
